WORK IS SPIRITUAL

with Brian Callahan, Executive Coach, Senior Mindfulness Teacher, and Clinical Counselor

SPIRIT AT LUNCH

Thu, May 21, 2015 12:15 PM - 1:30 PM PDT

A familiar paradigm suggests that the sacred is divided from the worldly and that the spiritual is divided from the work-place. But an older, even more venerated paradigm suggests that work is how most of us express the spiritual in our day-to-day lives.

Within Christianity, this is called incarnational spirituality: the divine enters our world to lift it up to salvation. Within Buddhism, this is called co-emergence and the Great Seal: the way the details of our day-to-day expresses the essence of enlightenment.

Within the Rig-Vedas, Arjuna is encouraged by the gods to enter the give and take of battle as the only place where he can express true humanity.

Brian will discuss the theme of how work - for most of us - expresses the spiritual and how we can connect with deep spirituality within the details of our daily efforts.
