Competing Moral Exemplars
Mark Wexler's paper, Competing Moral Exemplars in Green Business Ethics, examines the more often than not "assumed" coherence in the ethical worldview presented by advocates of green business values.
In the breakfast discussion on October 14, Dr. Wexler looks at a sample of 168 Executive MBA’s discussions of those in their work communities who they took to be moral exemplars of green business. Mark sifted through the 4 page essay discussions and noted that 31% of the executives selected an ecopreneur as their green moral exemplar; 22% a green functionary; 30% a green communitarian and 17% a green innovator. Mark explores why it is important in both understanding and promoting green business ethics to recognize how, when and why these varying moral exemplars differ. Dr. Wexler will highlight the differences in leadership style of each the four green moral exemplars.
Mark will take questions both during and, if time permits, after the discussion. If you have questions which have gone unanswered please contact Mark at wexler@sfu.ca
