About our Speaker

Kirk LaPointe is one of Canada’s leading media executives. He has held the senior editorial positions at CTV News, Southam News and The Hamilton Spectator. He was the founding Executive Editor at National Post, the Managing Editor at The Vancouver Sun, Ottawa Bureau Chief and the General News Editor of The Canadian Press. Kirk was also a host on CBC Newsworld and the Ombudsman of the CBC. Since 2004 he has taught ethics and leadership at the UBC School of Journalism and is the Executive Director of the Organization of News Ombudsmen. Kirk is also the host of Our City on Roundhouse Radio.
